2011 Fifa Awards

Let’s start off with the Fifa Ballon d’Or 2011 World Footballer of the Year Award. Hmm… take a wild guess to as who this one is going to. As your probably thinking right now, it can only be one man, the little Argentine, Lionel Messi. Obviously well deserved, this is the third year in a row that he is receiving this reward and I seriously doubt it’ll be his last.

Next we have the Fifa Ferenc Puskas Best Goal of the Year Award. The top three contestants were Wayne Rooney, Lionel Messi and Neymar.
Here are all three goals: (Rooney’s, Neymar’s and then Messi’s)

The award ended up going to Neymar.

The next thing is the 2011 World XI Team of the Year. To start off, in goal we have Real Madrid captain, Iker Casillas. The defense is made of Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid), Gerard Pique (Barcelona), Nemaja Vidic (Man Utd) & Daniel Alves (Barcelona). Midfield consists of Andres Iniesta (Barcelona), Xavi (Barcelona) & Xabi Alonso (Real Madrid). There are three strikers for this squad, Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid), Wayne Rooney (Man Utd) & Lionel Messi (Barcelona). It is ridiculous to me that every player is from three teams, but who am I to decide the World Best XI, I just write for a blog. Either way, there are a lot of players to consider such as Robin Van Persie, Gareth Bale, Thiago Silva and many others. But you have to look at which players constantly played well throughout 2011, not just players who had a good few months.

There is a lot to consider, so if you could pick, who would your World Best XI be? Anyone you think Fifa left out? Comment your thoughts below.
