EPL Returns/Gameweek 1: Game of the Week

EPL Week 1: Game of The Week (With Video Highlights)

The EPL is back and so are Twil and I and we will start TFIU back up again. We wanted to kick off our first post of the season with our pick fr the game of the week. After Sunday, it really seemed like it was going to go to the match between Manchester City and Southampton, but Monday's match changed that up. Everton hosted Manchester United at Goodison Park in a cracking match where the action was in constant motion from goal to goal. The first half ended as a 0-0 draw but only took Fellaini 12 minutes in the second half to convert the cross from a corner. The Belgian had been fantastic the entire match along with team mates Leon Osman and Steven Pienaar who, if not for David De Gea, would have all scored a nice set of opening week goals. The young Spaniard made up for United's sloppy defense, though conceding a goal. Valencia & Carrick were two midfielders that teamed up with Vidic and Evra to complete United's back four, so this is where the problems started. United/s attacking half got close a few times but couldn't break through Everton's on form defense. Phil Jagielka was easily the best defender on the pitch and New signing Shinji Kagawa helped orchestrate the midfield but it wasn't enough. The other big signing, Robin van Persie, started on the bench. He subbed on for Danny Welbeck with 22 minuted left on the clock. He still seemed like a very new signing which is why he didn't start. He still hadn't fell into the motion of United. United start off the season with zero points and Everton start with a well deserved 3 points.

Sneijder to Man United?

Manchester United have been given the green light to bid on Dutch midfielder, Wesley Sneijder. Sir Alex Ferguson has been keen on bringing the Inter man to Old Trafford for some time, but has finally placed a £35million bid, according to Talksport. Fergie has refrained from bidding in the past because of their manager, Leonardo, but he quit for PSG. Newly appointed manager Gian Piero Gasperini agreed to consider selling the world cup runner up to the Red Devils.
