As Rooney was running past McCarthy, and gave him an elbow to the side of his head. McCarthy was left holding his ear as the ref only gave a quick word to Rooney. Now I know that this isn’t good football, but being a United fan, this is the Rooney we know and love. He should have gotten a red card, but was lucky and got away with it. He also scored one, and gave an assist to Chicharito. With United looking for Premier League glory, this is a vital revival for United number 10.
