International Friendly: Italy 0-1 USA



Fulham’s number 23, lead USA to their first ever victory over Italy today!

The United States Men’s National Team, managed under Jurgen Kilnsmann, has won away at Italy for the first time ever. Italy has never lost in Genoa, except for today. At first, Italy started off with shots, with shaking defense from the US. Halftime ended 0-0, just what the States wanted. Early in the second half, Carlos Bocanegra chipped the ball to Jozy Altidore, who laid it off for USMNT’s #10. Not Landon Donovan, but Clint Dempsey, who’s shot went past Buffon to give USA the lead. The Deuce’s lone goal would stick till the final whistle. After USA took the lead, Italy had some chances, but the US played the offside trap, which worked for them a few times.
