Michael Owen Injury

Michael Owen started for Manchester United in their 2-0 win over Otelul Galati yesterday. Sadly, only ten minutes after the start of play, Owen was subbed off with Chicharito coming on. At first it was unclear, but replays showed that after Owen attempted to reach for a cross he missed and pulled his muscle. It was actually beneficial that he missed the cross because as it floated past the face of the goal, Valencia tucked it away to make it 1-0 in 8 minutes.

Owen stated that the Injury was his left quad that he hyper extended. He isn't sure on how serious it is but he says he does look forward to play when he is all cleared up. On his twitter, he said;
"Gutted about my injury. Felt my left quad as I reached out to try and score prior to Valencia’s goal. Was really looking forward to playing. Just hope it's not too serious and I'm back in action soon. Won't get too down. Lads got an important win to put us top of our group."
Sir Alex also had something to say about the injury on MUTV:
"He made the first goal with a fantastic run. He allowed the ball to be tapped in easily by Antonio. It is a different type of injury to the ones he has had in the past. We hope it is not too long because he is such a really good player."
At least United pulled of the win (in a fan's POV). Hopefully the injury isn't too bad because it would be horrible to see another Owen go down to injury. **Owen Hargreaves**
Owen is still a quality striker that could play a big role this season handling Carling a FA cup matches as well as EPL matches when the starters are overwhelmed. Let's hope for a swift recovery.
