West Bromwich Albion manager Roy Hodgson is prepared to bring former winger back to the club. The 32-year-old Hungarian International is currently a free agent after having his contract with Fulham come to an end.
Gera played at West Brom from 2004 to 2008 making 139 appearances and scoring 21 goals. He joined Fulham after. In 2002, 2004 and 2005 he was named Hungarian player of the year and in the 09/10 season, he was named the Fulham player of the year.
In his first season with West Brom, he was a huge factor to keep the club from relegation. The more he played for the club the more influential he became to beat the last three. It came down to the last day of the season, where the bottom four teams were fighting for the 17th spot and West Brom secured it with a win.
Gera earned a great reputation with fans for the three more seasons to come. Now to come back to Baggies, he must prove his fitness after an ankle operation. Until then, a deal won't be discussed. Since he is a free agent, dealing with a club won't be necessary so a deal would be completed quickly.
