2011 Copa Del Rey Final

Real Madrid met Barcelona for the third time this season, last night. This time it was for the Copa de Rey. The game ended 0 – 0 in regulation time and many fans were looking forward to penalties. Ronaldo, having the extreme height on his jumps, took the lead for his team with a towering header. Now I’d normally go into much more detail for this sort of match, but for two reasons I am not going to. First being that I don’t have a lot of time to write this and second I want to talk about what happened after.

As the Real squad was celebrating on their double decker bus driving through the streets of Madrid, Sergio Ramos went to the head of the bus to lift the trophy for his fans. He then lost grip on the cup and dropped it over the edge for it to be ran over by their bus. Everyone was too happy to even be worried about it. The team already talked to the jeweler who made it in the first place to make the repairs. Ramos joked about the incident on his twitter saying that the trophy jumped out of his hands to meet the fans. To be honest, they should keep it damaged rather than fix it. It will always remind them about how hard they were partying. Good thing Casillas didnt drop it, that would only question his keeping skills. We all know the entire Barcelona squad was laughing when the heard about it.
